Shangó Veterinary Clinic has been looking after pets in Calahonda from our practice at Centro Comercial Los Olivos. We are a small, fully bilingual team — everything we do, we do in English and Spanish — covering preventative medicine, diagnostics, surgery, home visits and professional grooming under one roof. Families across Mijas Costa, La Cala de Mijas, Riviera del Sol and Elviria come to us because we take the time to explain exactly what your pet needs, in your own language.
Our Mission
At Shango Veterinary Clinic, our passion is providing expert veterinary care with a personal touch. We believe that every pet deserves to live a happy, healthy life, and we work closely with pet owners to offer the best medical care, grooming and nutritional guidance.
We pride ourselves on being a community-focused clinic, actively supporting local pet initiatives such as the Calahonda Annual Dog Show. Whether you’re visiting us for a routine check-up, an emergency, or simply a grooming session, you’ll be met with friendly, compassionate service.

- An award-winning pet groomer, having won classes at Crufts in the UK.
- Passionate about grooming and animal care, ensuring every pet looks and feels their best.
- Often the first point of contact at the clinic, known for her friendly and hands-on approach.
- PgCert in Small Animal Surgery, University of Chester (UK). Master’s in Veterinary Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, TECH.
- Veterinary degree, Universidad de Murcia. Practises between Málaga and Leicester, UK.
- Registered veterinary surgeon no. 1765.
- GPCert in Cardiology and GPCert in Small Animal Internal Medicine (ISVPS). Veterinary degree, Universidad de Córdoba.
- Doppler echocardiography, 24h Holter monitoring, ECG and blood pressure — with same-day clinical interpretation.
- Registered veterinary surgeon no. 1330.
- Postgraduate degree in Veterinary Ophthalmology, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Veterinary degree, Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
- Member of SEOVET (Spanish Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology). Experience across Spain and Chile.
- Registered veterinary surgeon no. 2076.

Keeping your pets happy
We’re proud to support local pet events in Calahonda, including the annual dog show hosted at Centro Comercial Los Olivos. We also collaborate with local animal welfare groups to support pets in need.
